Ingredient

Breading Station

  • 3 Tbsp all‑purpose flour

  • 2 large eggs

  • 1 Tbsp water

  • 1 cup dry breadcrumbs

  • 2½ tsp Italian seasoning

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ⅛ tsp pepper

Cheese

  • 12 sticks string cheese

For Baking

  • Cooking spray

For Serving

  • 1 cup marinara or spaghetti sauce, heated

Directions

1. Set Up the Breading Station Place the flour in a shallow bowl. In a second shallow bowl, beat the eggs with the water. In a third shallow bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, and pepper.

2. Bread the Cheese Sticks Coat each string cheese stick in flour. Dip into the egg mixture, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture. Repeat the egg + breadcrumb step a second time for a thicker crust.

3. Freeze Arrange the coated cheese sticks on a baking sheet. Cover and freeze for at least 2 hours or overnight. (This prevents melting and leaking during baking.)

4. Bake Preheat oven to 400°F. Place the frozen cheese sticks on a parchment‑lined baking sheet. Spray lightly with cooking spray. Bake, uncovered, for 6–8 minutes, or until heated through and crisp. Let stand 3–5 minutes before serving.

5. Serve Enjoy warm with heated marinara or spaghetti sauce for dipping.
