Big-man's Burger - Quick & Easy Recipe

Horseradish Dijon Sauce

  • 2 Tbsp butter, melted

  • ¼ cup mayonnaise

  • 2 Tbsp prepared horseradish

  • 2 Tbsp Dijon mustard

  • ⅛ tsp salt

  • ⅛ tsp pepper

Burgers

  • 1½ lbs. ground beef

  • ⅓ cup beef broth

  • 2½ tsp hamburger seasoning, divided

  • 6 hamburger buns, split

  • 3 Tbsp butter, softened

Optional Toppings

  • Shredded lettuce

  • Sliced tomato

  • Sliced red onion


Directions

1. Prepare the Butter & Sauce Cut 2 Tbsp butter into 6 slices. Place the slices on a small plate and freeze until firm. Let the remaining butter soften. For the sauce, mix together the mayonnaise, horseradish, Dijon mustard, salt, and pepper until smooth. Set aside.

2. Form the Stuffed Patties In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, beef broth, and 1½ tsp hamburger seasoning; mix lightly but thoroughly. Shape into 6 patties. Place a frozen butter slice in the center of each patty and shape the beef around it, forming ¾‑inch‑thick patties. Sprinkle patties with the remaining 1 tsp hamburger seasoning.

3. Grill the Burgers Grill burgers, covered, over medium heat for 5–7 minutes per side, or until a thermometer reads 160°F.

4. Toast the Buns Spread the split buns with the softened butter. Grill, cut side down, over medium heat for 30–60 seconds, or until toasted.

5. Assemble & Serve - Serve the burgers on toasted buns with the horseradish Dijon sauce and optional toppings (lettuce, tomato, red onion).
